Liverpool, England, April 2018

Liverpool is a city that we've always felt a strong connection to.  Through maritime history, culture, or sport, it's been high on our list of must see destinations for a long time.

The city itself is full of extraordinary architecture.  A unique blend of industrial revolution era shipyards and modern design along the waterfront of the Mersey River.

Liverpool is also a European cultural center.  From the beatles, to fashion, and cuisine, Liverpool is reinventing itself every day in new ways.

Of course, one of the biggest draws to the city is Football.  As a Liverpool FC supporter for most of my life, this was also an opportunity to visit historic Anfield for a match.

After the match, we stayed in nearby Wirral, on the otherside of the Mersey River.  From Leasowe Castle, we had a fantastic view of the sunset over the Irish Sea.

Universal Studios, Florida, March 2015

It's not often I find myself alone, with an entire day to kill at a major theme park.  As I was in Orlando for a photography assignment, I had most of my gear at my disposal.  This presented a unique opportunity to see a theme park, uninterrupted, through a photographers eye...

Having grown up in central Florida, I had been to Universal Studios many times.  This was my first time returning as an adult, nearly 15 years after my last visit.  A lot had changed since then, with the most notable draw being the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter areas of the park.  Indeed, most of the park was unrecognizable to what I remembered as a child...

As is typical in central Florida, the day was mixed with periods of heavy rain that made for some dramatic lighting.  Luckily I had all the weather sealed gear with me, which often meant I was the only one in open areas in the rain while most people took cover...

This was a great and nostalgic way to spend a free day.  I would highly recommend it to anyone, of any age, especially if it has been a long time since your last visit. Click here to view the rest of the gallery.
